- About Our Signature Range
No.002 is a light and vibrant organic matcha from Kirishima. The blend features the Saemidori cultivar — widely grown in Kyushu and known for its high umami and naturally low astringency — forming the foundation of its balanced profile.
Kirishima is characterised by expansive plains and nutrient-rich volcanic ash soil, providing excellent conditions for tea cultivation. Producing high-quality matcha through organic methods presents challenges, yet many dedicated growers in this region have embraced the approach with care and precision to achieve exceptional results.
Our No.002 showcases the strength of organic matcha from Kirishima, offering refined balance, clarity and a beautifully vivid green colour. For those seeking organic matcha with freshness and finesse, No.002 is a distinctive and rewarding choice.
MATSU matcha No.001-003 are exclusive blends created in collaboration with an esteemed Japanese tea sommelier. Each blend is meticulously crafted to bring out the unique flavour profiles specific to the renowned matcha regions Kyoto and Kirishima. A perfect go-to for both usucha (straight matcha, akin to drip coffee) and lattes.
